Audio post-production, by the same team every time.

Everything that happens to audio after it is recorded, editing, design, mixing, mastering and delivery. This is where our core team sits, and it is the work that does not leave our own engineers.

Sound is what we don't distribute.

Recording happens where the talent lives. Audio engineering stays with our core team, on every project.

  • Recording goes local

Outside Indian languages, recording runs through partner studios and native specialists in-region.

  • Post stays central

Audio engineering sits with our core production team, however many studios recorded.

  • Twelve rooms, one title

A dub from twelve studios arrives with twelve room tones, mic chains and level conventions.

  • One standard

A single post team makes it sound like one title. Distributed post cannot.

What happens, in order.

  1. 01Conform and prepCheck against picture, select takes, flag unusable material for pickup.
  2. 02Dialogue editingClean breaths and noise, time to picture, match tone between rooms.
  3. 03Sound designRebuild effects where the M&E is missing, incomplete or unusable.
  4. 04MixingDialogue, music and effects balanced to your loudness spec and format.
  5. 05Mastering and deliveryFinal master checked against the destination spec, then packaged.

Mixing QC, the third of our five checks, runs before anything moves on.

What we work on.

Clients ask, so here it is. Direction still matters more than equipment.

  • Pro Tools

    For recording, editing and mixing.

  • Mac systems

    Used throughout.

  • Neumann microphones

    In the recording chain.

  • Direction first

A well-directed take on a competent chain beats a poorly directed one on an expensive chain.

Audio that arrives from elsewhere.

Much of what we mix was recorded elsewhere: partner studios, your facility, a performer's home setup.

  • Noise floor
  • Room tone
  • Mic characteristics
  • Level consistency
  • Sync accuracy
  • Whether anything needs re-recording

What can be salvaged, dialogue editing brings into line. What cannot, we flag early. A mix cannot rescue a recording made in a bad room.

Frequently
Asked Questions.

What does audio post-production include?
Everything after recording: conform and prep, dialogue editing, sound design where needed, mixing, mastering and delivery packaging. For localized content it also means making material recorded in multiple studios sound like a single coherent title.
Who handles your audio post-production?
Our own core engineering team, on every project, regardless of where the recording took place. It is the one part of the chain we do not distribute, the same people apply the same standard across every language in a release.
Can you mix audio we recorded ourselves?
Yes. We assess the material at intake for noise floor, room tone, level consistency and sync, and tell you honestly what can be brought into line and what would be better re-recorded. We will not claim a mix can fix a recording made in an unsuitable space.
What if our M&E track is missing?
Then the effects track has to be rebuilt, which is real work and is quoted separately. We identify this at intake rather than mid-project. It is more common than most clients expect, particularly with older catalog titles.
What loudness standards do you deliver to?
Whatever your destination platform requires. Tell us the specification and we master to it, then verify compliance during mixing QC and again at final QC before delivery.
