Urdu dubbing and localization.

Urdu and Hindi overlap heavily in speech and diverge completely in writing, which means a project that treats them as one language gets the audio roughly right and the subtitles entirely wrong.

Same conversation, different page.

Close in everyday speech. Further apart as register rises. Nothing shared in writing.

  • Urdu

Vocabulary draws on Persian and Arabic. Perso-Arabic script, right to left, usually Nastaliq: cursive, heavily contextual.

  • Hindi

Vocabulary draws on Sanskrit. A different script entirely.

A Hindi audio track may serve an Urdu audience at conversational register. A Hindi subtitle file is useless to them, so Urdu subtitles are always separate, with rendering verified. For formal, literary or culturally specific content, the audio needs separating too.

Services in Urdu.

Dubbing and voice-over. Translation and adaptation with register set deliberately. Subtitling and closed captions in Perso-Arabic script with Nastaliq rendering verified. Transcription. What comes to us in Urdu.

Drama and OTT catalog. Creator content. Advertising across Pakistani and diaspora markets. Devotional and cultural programming. E-learning and public information.

Frequently
Asked Questions.

Can a Hindi track serve an Urdu audience?
At conversational register, often acceptably, the spoken languages overlap heavily. As register rises the vocabulary diverges, so formal, literary or culturally specific content needs a separate Urdu track.
Can Hindi subtitles serve Urdu viewers?
No. The scripts share nothing: Urdu uses a right-to-left Perso-Arabic script. Subtitles are always a separate deliverable regardless of how close the audio is.
Do you handle Nastaliq rendering?
Yes, and it needs explicit checking. Nastaliq is cursive and heavily contextual, and tooling built for Latin or Devanagari renders it badly. Rendering is verified during subtitling QC.
How do you set Urdu register?
Deliberately, per project and per character. The Persian and Arabic vocabulary that marks higher-register Urdu is a characterisation choice, not a default.
